Respect is fun!
At home, at school, on the street – there is always someone who doesn’t agree with you. But wait – don’t argue at once – there are other ways! By using theatre, Hip-Hop and football you can discover that there are many different possibilities of solving conflicts peacefully. Experts from Africa and South America will show you their methods of peaceful conflict transformation. You will see what you can learn from their experiences and how much fun it can be to implement their methods in your own countries. You can take part in the program if you are between the ages of 16 and 20. Hurry up, ask some friends and join us!
PeaceXchange is fun. You get informed about life in Africa and Latin America and learn new techniques on peaceful conflict resolution – a tool, which is needed throughout your lives and nearly everyday! Not only will the workshops be a great deal of fun, but there will also be public events which allow you to connect your new knowledge with your daily life in school, on the streets, or with your sports team. The project focuses on everbody's role in development worldwide. Thus, each year has a specific topic: 2006 Theatre, 2007 Music (Rap/Hip-Hop), and 2008 Sports (football). In the 2006 program, you will have the opportunity to exchange your thoughts and ideas with theatre experts from the South and take part in theatre workshops. In the 2007 program, it’s all about Rap, since Rap and Hip-Hop is emerging as a worldwide element of lifestyle and youth culture. During the third year, the project will concentrate on football as a means of conflict resolution. Particularly through sports, it becomes clear what competition means and that fair play and team spirit are always winning strategies. Football players will share their experiences in sport projects and will get you prepared for the world championship in South Africa in 2010. If you have any questions or if you are interested in further information on our project or have any questions, don't hesitate to contact us - we'll keep you informed!
